Javelin review by crackberry.com

Crackberry.com has done another great review of a yet to be released device; the Javelin.

We hope to see this sweet little device in Malaysia not too far in the future. I have personally seen an engineering set a few weeks back and it does look sweet. Click here to read about my little encounter.

Problems with "crossover" to the new site

I'm somewhat gutted. Having implemented the integration of the myblackberryworld blog with my new corporate website (www.soleenstrategies.com), I have discovered that people who have bookmarked my site as myblackberryworld.blogspot.com are unable to access it as the redirect isn't working properly. I'm not sure why.

I hope my viewers will realize the confusion (we're not offline, we have just relocated) and come back to the site again. I was under the impression that blogspot would redirect to the new site, but despite me checking and double checking the settings, it doesn't seem to be doing it. I'm gutted.

We've gone live! Well.. almost...

In line with a complete overhaul of our corporate image, I'm glad to report that our new website is ALMOST ready for prime time.

A few tweaks left to do though, a few linking problems and also the  keyword search is not yet functioning, but otherwise, we're good to go.

We hope to have a proper database up and running soon where you can see the full range of our products. At present, we don't have any facilities that will cater for online purchases, but perhaps we will see to that in the not too distant future.

If you spot any problems or if you have any constructive criticism, please feel free to email us. We are constantly trying to evolve, adapt and overcome  in order to serve you better.

Baha

Kuching BlackBerry User Group on Facebook

Ok so even if you're not from Kuching, you're more then welcome to join us. Just search Facebook Groups for "Kuching BlackBerry User Group" and you should find us. It's for anyone who is a fan of the BlackBerry. Doesn't matter if you're a Maxis or a Celcom user (or any other BlackBerry Service Provider for that matter), whether you're a newbie or a self professed crackberry, you're all welcome.

Discuss, share or talk about anything BlackBerry related. We're going to organize get-togethers soon. Perhaps even offer prizes.. who know. Weirder things have happened right?

Another new convert...

Another convert who has seen the light! Well, partly a convert once he switches to Celcom and activates his BIS service; he's using it as a basic phone on DiGi right now and he's loving the Pearl as a phone!

My friend Frost who is technical manager at the epicenter of local Mac life; ITFusion is now a proud owner of a Pearl 8100 and finds little problem integrating it into his Mac-centric lifestyle. The owner of ITFusion, Moorey, is also a BlackBerry fiend as well!

FindMe FaceBook location tagging for BlackBerry

A neat little "beta" program that basically allows you to associate a specific tagline or name to individual cell phone towers.

If you are within the cell coverage area you have associated with your house and you have tagged that particular cell, it will show your location on facebook as whatever you have named that particular cell. Like "home" or "office" or "Starbucks". If you have not tagged the cell, then your location shows as "unknown", plus you also have the option of going"dark" whereby no location data is provided at all.

Sound's pretty neat and some of you may be tempted to check this application out. To find out more about this application and download it, click here

Recipes from your BlackBerry

The folks over at bigoven.com has developed a mobile version of their website that is accessible from the BlackBerry. Just point your site to "www.bigoven.com/m/" (don't include the quote symbols naturally) and start searching.

It has some interesting entries like "green curry chicken laksa" and "chicken satay sticks with wasabe mayonnaise"... not sure about that though!
